Marketplace Guardian — web app & browser extension

We built this to be private by default. You don't need an account, and we keep as little as possible.

What we do with the text you check

When you run a scam check, write a listing, or draft a negotiation message, the text you submit is sent to our analysis service and to trusted third-party AI processing providers to generate your result. We do not store the content of what you submit. It is used only to produce the result you asked for.

What we do keep

• Anonymous, aggregate usage metrics (for example, how many checks were run) so we can understand overall demand. These are not linked to your identity.
• A random id stored on your own device so the free tier works. It contains no personal information and is not tied to your name, email, or account.

What we don't do

• No account, name, or email is required or collected.
• We don't sell or share your personal data.
• The browser extension only reads page content when you actively use it (when you open the popup or use the right-click check) — never silently in the background.

The browser extension's permissions

The extension asks for the minimum it needs: to read the listing text and seller details on the page you're actively viewing (so you don't have to copy and paste), to send that text for analysis, to show a result notification, and to store your anonymous id and last result on your device.
